The Trembling of Cicada

A criminal defense lawyer, whose biological father is a kidnapper and stepfather a police detective, crosses paths with a senior judge who lost his wife and child to an act of revenge years ago, and a charismatic, enigmatic legal elite who exploits human nature while navigating the grey areas of the law. These three lonely strangers engage in a high-stakes battle of wits amidst a complex criminal defense case; yet, as they clash, they find a growing mutual understanding, becoming rivals who are nonetheless like family. In a game where the mantis stalks the cicada while the oriole lurks behind, they are simultaneously hunter and prey. Who will ultimately emerge as the oriole? And who is the cicada, lying dormant for twelve years, waiting to sing for freedom and claim a resounding summer?
